Let’s Keep Talking about Mental Health

Bell Let’s Day was a few weeks ago. I have mixed feelings about the day.

While it’s good to raise awareness, it should be happening everyday. We do not need a day dedicated to talking about mental health.

I used to like the day and used to participate, but then I learned that Bell is known to stigmatize and discriminate their employees because of their mental health issues.

While I do think there should be conversation around mental health, it should be happening every day, without promoting a company like Bell.

This year, I did not share or like any videos, photos or anything with the hashtag. Instead, I just talked about mental health like I do almost everyday.

Remember, we can all donate directly to mental health organizations and initiatives if we wanted to help with funding. At least we know where that money is going. With Bell Let’s Talk, we can’t be sure where the money is going and if they’re even donating the amount they claim to be. At least I don’t think there’s proof; let me know if I’m wrong.

We can all talk without using that hashtag and do so everyday.

I’m always here to talk.
